CCTC ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: DEANNA BURRESS

Deanna Burress graduated from Central Carolina Technical College in 2021 with an Associate of Arts degree. She chose CCTC for its positive reputation in the community, a degree program that aligned with her goal of earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, and the flexibility of online classes that allowed her to work full-time while pursuing her studies.

Starting as a student, she quickly became more involved on campus through the Federal Work Study Program. Her dedication and hard work led to a full- time position at the college, where she continued her education and successfully earned her Bachelor’s Degree. The encouragement and support from her co-workers played a major role in her success.

Deanna hopes to continue her career at CCTC in a role that allows her to fully utilize her Bachelor’s Degree. She values the college’s organizational culture and its strong commitment to students and the community.

Her message to future Titans? “CCTC can either be a starting point on the way to other undergraduate or graduate degrees, or it can be a finishing point with a technical degree so you can get out into the workforce quicker.”
