DESCRIPTION:
Counsels and consults students with disabilities and provides needed assistance to ensure students receive appropriate and adequate accommodations according to the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act, and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Communicates with faculty and staff regarding individual students, maintains records, manages budget, and secures qualified personnel for accommodation needs. Safeguards the confidentiality of each student. Provides a full range of retention, engagement, and direct student support services to support underrepresented or under-resourced students; addresses success barriers and educates students on how to successfully navigate systems. Maintains strong connections with underrepresented students, meeting with them individually and in cohort groups, communicating with them frequently and tracking progress. Designs, markets, and delivers educational resources, programs, workshops, or trainings to students, faculty, and staff on regulations and related wellness to promote a positive campus climate and enhance the overall experience of students. Provides assistance, resources, consultation to students referred by Student Support Team and college community. Locates area and community resources and participates in meetings. Assist Title IX Coordinator with promotion and coordination of accommodations according to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and campus-wide compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs.
SALARY:
$41,000 – $46,000.
